What is Health Coaching?

Health Coaching is a unique, exciting innovation in health and nutrition. As an AADP Certified Health Coach, I have studied all the major dietary theories and will help you discover what approach works best for you at this point in your life.

While most dietitians dwell on calories, carbs, fats, proteins, restrictions and lists of good and bad foods, I work with my clients to create a happy, healthy and nourishing life in a way that is flexible, fun and free of denial and discipline.

The Feed Your Roots Philosophy

Our health has less to do with our genes and how we look on the outside than we think. Our roots (that’s our diet and lifestyle) play a leading role in our overall health and wellness.

Just as roots anchor a plant to the ground in order to provide it with the nutrients it needs to survive, I work with you to make sure your roots keep you grounded and give you what you need to not just survive, but to LIVE!

We are all different and unique individuals and as a result, the same diet does not work for everyone. By working with me, you will receive bio-individual coaching to empower you to make educated changes that will have a lifelong effect on your health and wellness. This is not a fad diet or a quick fix – being healthy takes more than a magic pill or special drink.

I will create the program that works best for you (and only you) to make gradual, lifelong changes that enable you to reach your current and future health goals!

Life has taught me that there is a strong connection between diet, lifestyle, mood and health. Changing my diet and lifestyle changed my life. As a health counselor, I work with clients nationwide to learn these truths for themselves.


It wasn’t until I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis (UC) in 2006 that I really started to pay attention to how I was treating my body. My autoimmune disease woke me up. It was my body’s way of telling me to slow down, switch gears, and breathe!


I learned how to listen to my body. I tried new foods and got rid of others that didn’t make me feel as good. I discovered what natural energy felt like when I wasn’t dependent on caffeine to get me through the day. I tried new kinds of exercise, like yoga. Most importantly, I learned to accept what I could not change. That was when my healing really began.


I am a certified health coach through the American Association of Drugless Practitioners (AADP). I received my education at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York City and studied under nutrition experts and leaders in their fields including Deepak Chopra, David Katz, Mark Hyman, Andrew Weil, Walter Willet and David Wolfe.


I am currently working towards my Master’s degree in Human Nutrition and expect to graduate in 2011. I am also a contributing writer on Examiner.com.
